A Different Philosophy

Photography is not my bread & butter.  That means I can take a wholly different approach to the art of portraits.  I charge a simple “sitting fee” that covers the photo shoot, the processing, and the delivery.   You are presented with the finished photos in a digital format, along with a document saying you have the right to make as many copies as you want–anywhere you want.   You’ll receive 2 version of each finished photo:  Web and Print

Web-resolution photos are optimized for upload to Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and/or your personal website.  They’re 1024px on the longest side, and compressed to 75% quality in the .JPG format.

Print-resolution photos are also saved in .JPG format, at full resolution at 100% quality (minimum compression).  These may be taken to any print shop or photo-printing kiosk for high-quality prints.

If you need uncompressed digital files for large-format professional-quality prints, .TIFF files are available upon request.

A Different Cost

I’m a photographer, not a printer, so I charge differently than others studios.  Studio shoots are $200 for as many images, looks, and wardrobe changes as you can fit in 4 hours.  I guarantee at least 10 finished images, but a typical shoot usually results in at least 20, and I’ve had some great models that walked away with over 50 images.

If you want a professional-quality hair or makeup stylist, I can contract them at their stated rates. Or, if you prefer, you can contract them on your own.

Your Photos are Yours

Unlike other photographers who make you pay them for every copy, all images taken in my studio are released to you under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY).  This means that, while I retain the copyright, you’re allowed to copy, distribute, and modify the images, as long as you credit me as the photographer.  I do not provide printed copies.
